The puffer vest also started evolving into forms that felt ornamental rather than anatomical, with proportions that lacked the deliberate tension I had established. What became clear during this process was how easily a generative tool can misrepresent structural integrity when the prompt language isn’t interpreted precisely. The more I tried to rephrase or clarify, the further the visuals slid into derivative fantasy tropes—flowy robes, hollow silhouettes, and textures that overwhelmed rather than supported the form. Rather than getting closer to my design, this round revealed the limits of the AI’s understanding of nuanced construction and proportion. It pushed me to reassert authorship more actively—to hold on to my visual rules, my sketches, and my physical references rather than letting the tool overdetermine the design. This tension has ultimately clarified the core of my aesthetic, even if it didn’t result in a usable image.
